I stumbled across "1000 White Women" in my local library and was riveted from page one. Remarkable - a male author gets inside a woman's head!

I just read One Thousand White Women. The plot twist with the baby caught me by surprise. But, the ending with May broke my heart! Great book!!!

Note from JF: Roxanne, readers have complained about "spoiler" guestbook postings so I took the liberty of amending very slightly your message. Thank you.

I have just finished reading The Wild Girl and think it would make a great movie. Has there been any action related to this idea?

I bought '1000 Women' in a little museum near Ft. Laramie and have just finished reading. It is superb; thank you so much, for both smiles and tears.

Just started reading 1000WW ... love it. While reading guests' posts, someone gave away the ending! Bet Lillian Kuff does the same at movies! Shame!

Note from JF: Sorry about that. Her posting has been amended.

Enjoyed your book -- first attracted to it because your name is the same as my late father Jim Fergus
